Help Train the Next Generation of Subsea Cable Jointers

We are seeking an experienced Instructor to join our Jointing Training School in Chelmsford, Essex.  Whether you are an experienced Cable Jointer seeking a move into training, or an established instructor with a technical engineering background, this role offers an excellent opportunity to share your expertise and help develop the next generation of Jointing professionals within the submarine cable industry.

Working within our established training facility, you will deliver practical and theoretical training in Universal Jointing (UJ), related jointing technologies, and other specialist cable jointing disciplines for both internal employees and external customers from around the world.

Key Deliverables:
Ensure that the facilities under your control are managed safely and in accordance with legislation and best industry
       practice.
Maintain the Training School schedule of planned courses.
Carry out planned training for internal and external customer Jointers in accordance with the UJ consortium procedures           and the Companies re-qualification processes.
•      Carry out planned training for internal and external customers in accordance with the UJ consortium procedures and               recommended re-qualification processes.
Adjust and deliver training to account for the cultural background of people being trained and adapt style to coach                   trainees to successfully complete the required training.
Manage the delivery of training courses and ensure that all equipment, piece parts, cable and all ancillary equipment               required for such training, is available at the designated training site.
On completion of training, ensure that all trainees carry out post joint maintenance to all tools and equipment used to               construct any joints. This should be incorporated as part of the training on the basis of instilling “good housekeeping”               habits to trainees and ensuring they maintain equipment in a suitable manner.
Undertake the transfer of Universal Jointing technology and PGU development through to the Training School.
Provide guidance and support on technical aspects of jointing to internal and external customers.
Responsible for the management of Jointing Training School stocks for future courses.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Required:
Possess a training qualification.
A competent and experienced jointer who is fully conversant with UJ/UC/UQJ technology or an established instructor with a         technical engineering background who would be willing to train as a Universal Jointer (all training will be provided).
•     Excellent interpersonal skills.
Self-reliant and resourceful with the ability to use own initiative.
Demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to adapt communication style and training methods to                 support diverse international customer base.
Ability and willingness to switch disciplines from one job to another in order to maximise efficiency within the team.
 
Ideal:
Experience working with and supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, adapting communication and                   training styles to meet varying needs.
