Job Description

About:  Global Marine Group is a leading independent provider of submarine cable solutions offering a broad range of services including consultancy, installation and maintenance covering the lifespan of a submarine cable system and delivered to customers worldwide.

Purpose:  This role will work as part of a team of Project Managers within the Installation Project Delivery Team, operating within established project management procedures to ensure that contracted work is completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will accompany the project from an agreed point in the Project Lifecycle (PLC), and will be responsible for managing, controlling and monitoring the project through initiation, planning, execution and close out stages. You will be instrumental in commercial and technical execution of the project.

Key Deliverables:

  • Develop and maintain strong, effective relationships with key customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction and continued business engagement.
  • Lead the planning and execution of contracted projects in alignment with the company's Project Lifecycle (PLC) framework.
  • Lead a diverse project team, including both of Fleet and Office personnel to achieve shared objectives.
  • Manage Master Document Registers for each assigned Project.
  • Support the tendering process prior to Contract Signature and identify any potential risks and providing insight based on previous project experience prior to contract signature.
  • Be the prime point of contact between the Clients and GMSL for all matters relating to contracted projects.
  • Ensure alignment between Head Contract deliverables and Sub-Contracts through close collaboration with the Project Team.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and approval of all project documentation to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Responsible for managing and controlling the overall project budget to meet or improve project financial targets. 
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate potential risks, cost overruns, and scheduling delays.
  • Balance quality, cost, time, and scope to achieve optimal project outcomes.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting on project performance internally and externally utilising agreed reporting formats.
  • Responsible for ensuring project risks are identified and managed by the Project Team and feed-back internally to the Lessons Learnt database.
  • Responsible for project closure, including final reporting, wash up meetings and close out of finances.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Required:

  • A degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business or a related field that demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities or an in-depth knowledge of the marine engineering industry, encompassing telecoms, power, Oil and Gas or Offshore Renewables.
  • Proven project management expertise, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across internal teams, clients, and partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Be conversant with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project
  • Proven experience working within a cross-functional environment.
  • Results-orientated individual with a desire to improve continuous performance.

Ideal:

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Project Server and Web-Access environment
  • Approved Project Management Qualification (APM, PMP, PRINCE or similar)
  • Excellent ability to motivate a virtual matrix Project Team.
  • A willingness and thirst to drive through new ways of working.

Location:  This role is based in the Singapore office and follows a hybrid working arrangement, with working 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely each week.
