Global Offshore is a business unit of Global Marine Group and provides comprehensive power cable installation, repair and trenching services to the offshore renewables (fixed and floating), utilities and oil & gas markets. Due to recent growth due to the energy transaction and contract awards Global Offshore is looking to recruit engineers focused on the power cable, subsea ploughing and trenching services. The ideal candidate will have experience in the within offshore environment and subsea construction. Working within Global Offshore (as part of the Global Marine Group), you’ll enjoy taking on scopes of work across the Business Unit and working with your colleagues completing deliverables.

There is pressure in the role which will need to be managed, requiring good self-discipline and excellent teamwork.

GMG has various offices around the UK, this role will be based in the Global Offshore Aberdeen office. This is an opportunity for the chosen engineer to start/further their experience in the subsea industry, with a focus on renewable offshore wind generation a significant and growing market for the business.

Key Deliverables:

• Prepare the provisioning/sub-contracting scopes of work, acting both as a client and contractor, and evaluate proposals from the sub-contractors.
• Support ad hoc requests from Project Management.
• Key role in communicating between site/vessel and the office.
• Devise and prepare methodologies/procedures for offshore operations.
• Co-ordinate production of storyboards and drafting requirements.
• Manage the mobilisation of vessels and equipment as needed.
• Carry out basic hand calculations and produce design reports/technical notes.
• Prepare and use quality documentation such as FAT plans and ITPs as required.
• Represent Project Team on-site/offshore

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Experience in offshore vessel based work with a background subsea installation is advantageous.
• Bachelor or Master’s Engineering Degree.
• Willing to travel both nationally and internationally.

• Cable Lay/Umbilical Lay/Trenching/Subsea Construction experience.
• Offshore experience.
• Ability to use AutoCAD.
• Offshore Survival & Medical.
• Associated with a Professional Institution.
