Job Description

We are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer with a strong electrical background in industry to join our small team of multi-skilled engineers. The successful candidate will have Electrical Cable Testing skills within the Industry, working to maintain Scheduled Cable Testing Requirements.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Testing of Electrical/Fibre Optic Cables
  • Maintenance of Existing/new Electrical equipment within the Facility
  • Sourcing parts at best value to meet business needs and maintaining appropriate stock levels;
  • Working closely with Site Key Staff to operationalise new products and progress projects and engineering solutions;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, reviewin9, developing and improving processes, Equipment to improve efficiency;
  • Training and developing others in the Process of Cable Testing and electrical work, new equipment, processes as necessary;
  • Be Willing to Travel Abroad for Cable Testing Purposes when required
  • Operating within Company Health and Safety standards & Procedures in all aspects of the job role;
  • Any other duties as may be required to ensure the smooth running of the Depot

This is a full-time role and working hours will be based on working 5 days, Mon-Fri, Work pattern will generally be 8am - 4pm, although given the nature of the industry a flexible approach will be required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience


  • Qualification in an electrical discipline;
  • With extensive relevant electrical engineering experience within an industry.
  • Able to read electrical drawings, Test, diagnose and resolve electrical problems and have a good working knowledge of Electrical Principles
  • Good computer skills, Excel, Data Bases etc.
  • Pro-active, practical approach to problem solving and decision making;
  • Able to work efficiently, effectively, accurately and on own initiative with minimum supervision as well as part of a team in a fast-paced working environment;
  • Professional manner, excellent interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to build good rapport at all levels;
  • Flexible approach to working hours
