Job Description

Purpose: Supporting the Senior Project Manager in the delivery of installation projects. Involvement may start from an agreed point in the pre-execution planning stage and thereafter supporting the Project Manager within agreed company procedures to ensure that contracted scope of work is completed on time, within budget and within quality requirements.

A key objective of this position is to develop the post holder to achieve full Project Manager status based on achievement of key competencies within a structured and evolving development program.

Key Deliverables:

  • Undertake responsibility over a list of subset activities within a wider project scope.

  • Manage the project activities within agreed company procedures, and ensuring that contracted scope is completed within time, budget and exceeding quality requirement. Ensure best level or balance of Quality, Cost, Time and Scope are met.

  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders in the management and tracking of Project Risk Assessments.

  • Prepare and manage the Project Documentation and ensure that the documents are up-to-date and available for all stakeholders.

  • Liaise with relevant Global Marine Departments in ensuring that adequate resources are provided for the envisaged scope of work.

  • Provides continuous monitoring and support, in ensuring the devised solution is still feasible with the changing scenarios and constraints, throughout the project lifecycle. Methodologies, procedures and risk log to be updated with each revision.

  • Conduct Post-Project Review and consolidate feedback and lessons learnt, and ensure that the information gathered is archived for future reference.

  • Support and undertake tasks designated by Project Managers.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Required:

    • Competent in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project.

    • Well verse in Risk Management Methodology.

    • Sound knowledge on marine engineering industry, encompassing offshore/subsea installation of telecoms and power cable.

    • Experience in contract management.

    • Engineering experience, with relevant diploma/degree or professional education.

    • Good analytical capability with the ability to assimilate technical and project management information and understand the associated issues.

    • Willingness to travel overseas as required in performing the role.

    • Proven experience working within a cross-functional environment.

    • Excellent interpersonal and team working ability.

    • Experience in project management

      Ideal:

    • Approved Project Management Qualification such as APM, PMP, PRINCE or equivalent.

    • Results-orientated individual with a desire to improve performance.
