Job Description
Full commercial management of project life cycle for allocated Projects within the Global Marine business unit. A key member of the Senior Project Team(s), providing business and contract management support as required working within a large international contracting business. The role requires sound contract management skills, with the ability to identify and address commercial and contract risk in order to protect and grow revenues across the business.
Key Deliverables:
Commercial Management 
• Responsible for the commercial management of allocated projects within Global Marine.
• Agree with the Senior Project Manager/Commercial Manager, the contract strategy for all projects with the business and to facilitate timely and efficient implementation.
• Commercially administering allocated contracts ensuring contract compliance thought the project.
• Provide robust cost management at all times including: accurate live forecasting and actual costs vs estimates.
• Providing support to the procurement process (pre-award), commercial management of contracts during the execution phase (post-award) and commercial management for the delivery of contract account agreements (close out).
• Feedback price points, lessons learnt etc to the Bids & Sales team
• Leading project contract/commercial discussions and attending progress reviews where necessary.
• Identifying and recommending mitigating actions on all commercial risk / opportunities at the earliest possible time.
• Managing risk and ensuring first class corporate governance by working closely and collaboratively with Bids, Sales, Legal and Project Delivery teams to mitigate or transfer commercial risk as it relates to contractual terms and conditions, while maximising opportunities for the Company to deliver on its goals.
• Provide contractual advice and guidance to Procurement to ensure the contracting chain operates effectively.
• Ensure robust estimates are provided that are aligned to scope with a transparent overview of all risks and opportunities within the business.
• Ensure that accurate and trusted records are kept so that all financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available.
• Implementing contract commercial / financial reporting and participating in periodic contract reviews.
• Control and store Contract documentation in compliance with Company systems and processes.
• Look to develop members of the team with commercial knowledge and experience gained over numerous years in industry.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Proven track record delivering high value offshore projects on time and to budget
• Substantial Contract negotiation / delivery experience• Previously led the delivery of high value high risk projects.
• Experience supporting front end procurement / closing of commercial agreements
• Experience seeing these agreements through to fulfilment.• Supporting any claims processes with the Legal Department that arise during or post project completion.
• Recognised degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Good working knowledge in contract Management including FIDIC, LOGIC, NEC3contracts
• Excellent drafting, reviewing and negotiation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact successfully with executives, technical teams and senior management as well as work with demanding internal clients and external customers.
• Able to work independently and resourcefully under pressure.
• High ethical standards and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
About The Company


Global Offshore is a business unit of Global Marine Group and provides comprehensive power cable installation, repair and trenching services to the offshore renewables, utilities and oil & gas markets. The ideal candidate will have experience in the within offshore environment and subsea construction.   Working within Global Offshore (as part of the Global Marine Group), you’ll enjoy taking on scopes of work across the Business Unit and working with your colleagues completing deliverables.

GMG has various offices around the UK (Chelmsford, Portland, Blyth, Grimsby and Aberdeen), this role will be based in the Global Offshore Aberdeen office but flexible working from home will be considered. This is an opportunity for the chosen engineer to gain experience in the renewables industry, a significant and growing market for the business.
