Introduction:

The role of the Project Engineer is to undertake duties within multi-disciplined Engineering team performing a multiple of engineering tasks including: pre-engineering and detailed design. This role would suit an Engineer looking to embrace the next challenge who thrives on technical success. The ideal candidate will have a 3-4 large projects on their CV and wanting to diversify and use their pure offshore experience in a wider portfolio of challenges offshore, not only in Projects, but also O&M, innovation and new product design.

Working on the new and keeping away from the routine brings about challenges.  The successful candidate will need to be a highly motivated, team player, fully committed to safety, open to new ways of working and have a healthy obsession with delivering work to the highest possible standard.  There is pressure in the role which will need to be managed, requiring good self-discipline and excellent teamwork. 

The role is primarily based in Chelmsford or Blyth, the GMG has various offices around the UK (Chelmsford, Portland, Blyth, Grimsby and Aberdeen) which offers flexibility to working location.  As well as a competitive salary and benefits package, you’ll enjoy a professional and relaxed working environment. Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • +3 years’ experience in offshore operations ideally with a background in naval architecture and project delivery

  • Higher Education Engineering Degree/Masters (or equivalent)

  • Understanding of rigging/lifting operations

  • Experience in Grillage and Seafastening design on Ships

  • Well versed in standard offshore Rules & Regulations and dealing with Class Approvals

  • Experience in International project work

     

Advantageous Abilities/Certification:

  • Cable Lay/Umbilical Lay/Subsea Construction

  • Offshore Windfarm experience

  • Ability to use Solidworks and AutoCAD

  • Associated with a Professional Institution

  • Offshore problem solving skills
