Job Description
To control and implement the customer contracting processes for the Company. This will be achieved within a Project Life Cycle environment and align with company strategy. The goal is to have transparent quality management and commercial and contract risk control processes that protect and grow revenues in accordance with the Business Plan.
  • Responsible for the coordination, preparation and negotiation of contracts with customers for Group Business Units on a global basis.

  • Extensive interaction with clients during contract preparation.

  • To be responsible for the Group’s insurance programme and claims and manage the activities of the contracts and insurance executive.     

  • Work closely with sales, project management, sales and bid teams to mitigate or transfer commercial and risk as it relates to terms and conditions of contract.

  • Review, prepare and track contracts and their variations.

  • Control and store quality documentation in compliance with company systems and processes.

  • To provide contractual advice and guidance to Procurement to ensure the contracting chain operates effectively..

  • To prepare contractual compliancy statements in accordance with the company’s Customer Contracting Procedure.

  • To ensure compliance with OFAC and other sanctions and export laws and regulations.

  • To liaise with external legal providers and ensure costs and budgets are managed effectively

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Experience in contracting in the submarine cable, power and offshore markets.

Good understanding of LOGIC, NEC,FIDIC contract forms.

Good understanding with BIMCO Supply time and Wind time charter party forms

Commercial, financial, and marine legal experience with a leading London law firm or similar.

Ability to think clearly and work as a Team player.

A good understanding of marine and non marine insurance

Ability to communicate complex ideas in an understanding manner.

Ability to cope with pressure and work to tight deadlines

Ability to negotiate and understand the pricing of commercial risk in contracts and protect the company contractually. 

Law Degree with contractual bias.

Ideally some maritime law experience.
