The RQHSE business partner is responsible within the Global Offshore Business Unit (BU) for the effective provision, management and monitoring of RQHSE services, associated standards and Company objectives, in order to deliver and continually improve strong RQHSE performances and maintain a healthy safety culture.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing a visible and effective leadership example in RQHSE standards at all times, to all organisational & BU colleagues & stakeholders, in promotion and maintenance of a strong safety culture
  • Ensuring that BU practises are compliant with company standards, external standards & legislation, are aligned to company strategy and actively support organisational performance
  • Providing RQHSE documentation, support and subject-matter expertise to developing and implemented projects within the BU
  • Together with BU Managing Director, prepare annual KPI’s and Objectives, with supporting initiatives where required, to publish across the organisation via the Annual RQHSE Plan
  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting on RQHSE performance within the BU and associated projects, stakeholders, assets and sites
  • Where required, submit plans & supporting budgets to implement required initiatives that deliver continual RQHSE improvement within the BU and address trends in performance
  • Promoting and driving RQHSE-focussed campaigns & initiatives from within the business and external project-/client-related sources
  • Where required or directed, ensure compliant & timely reporting, investigation and root cause analysis of unwanted events

DIRECTORATE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting to Dir. RQHSE, provide regular updates on RQHSE activities, impacts, associated trends and recommended strategies to effectively address these
  • Support the Directorate Managers with review of associated internal policies, procedures and guidance to ensure RQHSE demands are met and continual improvement is delivered
  • Liaise with RQHSE Business Partner (GMG) to ensure the timely publication of Safety Bulletins and other relevant publications, to promote Lessons Learnt within the organisation and to relevant industry bodies such as IMCA
  • Provide continuous identification of opportunities and solutions which will improve management process and procedures to increase efficiency and performance
  • Support the Compliance & Improvement Manager in planning & execution of RQHSE-focused audits and improvement programs within the BU and across associated assets & stakeholders
  • Provide ad-hoc support to other BU’s and/or RQHSE Directorate activities, under direction of the Dir. RQHSE
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Relevant accreditation – NEBOSH GC or higher (or equivalent)

  • Environmental Certificate

  • Incident Investigation Training

  • Lead Auditor Training to ISO/ISM management systems (IRCA accredited)

  • At least 5  years QHSE Management experience in a hazardous operational environment

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/14001/45001 & ISM

  • Engagement and influencing skills and experience

  • Computer literate (MS office)

  • Proven experience in effective implementation & performance management of Maritime- and Project-focused RQHSE systems, standards & practices

  • Certification for offshore work, including relevant and in-date offshore medical certificate offshore training

  • Ability to deliver high-quality documents, records and presentations, often to strict & demanding timescales

  • Ability to analyse, report upon and react to RQHSE data, trends and recognised KPI’s

  • Pro-active approach to identifying improvement opportunities and new initiatives to improve performances

  • Ability to multi-task and provide constructive safety-focussed solutions to multiple challenges

  • Good team working is essential, supported by a strong sense of self-motivation
