Job Description

Purpose:

The Senior Project Manager holds overall responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive control and completion of projects managed by their team, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. The Senior Project Manager is to work within agreed procedures to ensure that contracted work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to quality requirements. Accompanying the project from an agreed point in the solution design process, and then manage and closely monitor the project throughout the planning, execution / controlling and closing stages. Instrumental in commercial and technical execution of the Project, and contribute to the Lessons Learnt Database and continuous improvement.

Key Deliverables:

  • Own and drive a safety culture within the team and wider business
  • Work closely with the Proposals / Solutions / Sales / BD teams on submissions prior to formal Contract Signature identifying and managing any significant risks alongside the Propsals / Solutions team.
  • Review and approve project plans developed by their team
  • Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Ensure Project Managers manage projects in accordance to established procedures; these may vary according to the nature of the project, i.e. subsea cable maintenance, installation, marine renewables, defence, survey, Oil and Gas, Power Cables.
  • Define required resources for each project and allocate project resources
  • Manage role out of internal project delivery process improvements.
  • Manage project team and set targets and objectives 
  • Manage the overall project budget and department budget
  • Create schedule and project timeline
  • Ownership of the CWind project risk register and Lessons Learnt.
  • Track deliverables for all projects being managed by the team
  • Support and direct team
  • Lead quality assurance
  • Monitor and report on project progress to CWind LT and MD
  • Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
  • Working with the company’s operations and contracts system
  • Evaluate and assess result of project
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent
  • At least 5 years’ project management experience in projects of value greater than £10m,
  • Degree level education
  • Theoretical and practical project management knowledge
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
  • Proficiency in project management software tools
  • Ability to prioritise workload and effectively delegate tasks
  • Relevant experience in offshore wind (5 years+)
  • Experience in Agile teams
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Expertise in conflict resolution
  • Ability to motivate people
  • Proven commercial awareness and detailed understanding
  • Highly efficient communication skills
  • Analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability
  • Proficiency with related software tools including but not limited to MS Project, MS Excel, etc.
  • Ability to motivate people and influence key decision makers
  • Driving licence

     

    Ideal:

  • Ideally completed a BOSIET / GWO basic safety training course, with a valid Offshore Medical
  • Health and Safety Qualification
