Job Description

PURPOSE

You will work as part of a team of Project Managers within this department and within agreed project management procedures. You will be the lead CWind person in the project team and will have overall responsibility for all contracted project work to ensure it is completed on time, within budget and within quality requirements. You will support the project from an agreed point in the proposal development and design process, and then manage and closely monitor the project throughout the planning, execution / controlling and closing stages as described in the CWind project lifecycle process. You will be instrumental in commercial and technical execution of the project; in addition, you will contribute to the lessons learnt database.

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • Support the proposals process by contributing and advising the proposals department and identify prior to contract signature any areas of concern along with providing the relevant technical and commercial input to ensure a successfully executed project.
  • Develop and Manage the project execution plan and ensure that it is fully up to date and available to all stakeholders during the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct and oversee project kick off meetings both internally and with the client and be the prime point of contact between the clients and CWind for the contracted projects.
  • Complete and manage Master Document Registers along with document control and ensure the development of the contained documents are as required for each Project.
  • Manage contracted projects according to established procedures; these may vary according to the nature of the project
  • Prime person responsible for project financial performance to ensure the project budget and margin “as bid/won” are achieved or exceeded.
  • Ensure best levels / balance of quality, cost, time and scope are achieved.
  • Lead a diverse Project Team of Fleet, Operations and Engineering personnel to a common goal of successful project execution.
  • Liaise with all internal and external resources to ensure projects and processes are coordinated. Monitor sub-contractors to ensure all Contract obligations delivered.
  • Report on project performance internally (and externally as required) at frequent & regular intervals.
  • Identify in advance any potential overruns in terms of cost or schedule, and take action to mitigate if required.
  • Measure and maintain KPI’s and ensure all stakeholders are fully aware and operate within these constraints.Owning and driving best RQHS&E practise throughout the project.
  • Demonstrate leadership in safety, nurture and maintain a strong safety culture within the team, ensuring work only takes place with approved RAMS in place and where the staff have the requisite skills and training to undertake those tasks.
  • Work with the company / clients RQHSE to deliver the projects health and safety procedures in line with the company policies, procedures and accreditations.
  • Feed-back internally to the Lessons Learnt database
  • Be prepared to undertake frequent periods of domestic and international travel.
  • Be prepared to fulfil short term (6-12 month) secondments to CWind global offices to provide temporary project management support.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Experience of at least five years in offshore wind in a similar role.

  • Educated to Degree level, preferably in an engineering discipline

  • Ability and experience to manage projects to the Contract, both financially and to the T+Cs.

  • Experience in project financial management, including cost control, forecasting and profit and loss reporting.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and effectively delegate tasks.

  • Experience in managing a remote and culturally diverse team

  • Excellent interpersonal, management and reporting skills

  • Project Management Qualification – APM or similar

  • Health and Safety Qualification.

  • GWO basic safety training.

  • Offshore medical.

  • Driving licence.

  • Organisational Skills.

  • Numeracy Skills.

  • Diplomacy.

  • Ability to motivate people.

  • Commercially astute and experienced.
