Job Description

Due to the growth and development of our CWind Business Unit we have an exciting opportunity as an Operations Director who will be responsible for the coordination of people and process to deliver safe, high-quality, on time, on budget projects. This position can be based either at our Chelmsford or Grimsby office. 


This role requires effective management of staff, sub-contractors, suppliers, vessels, site managers as well as supporting the commercial team with solution design and cost analysis for tenders. As Operations Director you will direct and coordinate CWind’s operational capability based on company policies, goals, and objectives to ensure an efficient working environment and that deadlines are met consistently.

Operations Director Job Duties:

  • Assists Managing Director in setting goals that promote company growth

  • Promotes and enforces safety in the workplace

  • Ensures customer requirements are met in a timely manner and provides expert advice into supporting sales

  • Identifies improvement areas and plans and implements systems to boost company effectiveness

  • Executes plans designed to meet company goals by changing policies and coaching employees

  • Prepares budgets, schedules, and other organisational reports as needed

  • Oversees daily activity of operations team and manages team workloads in order to reliably meet goals and deadlines

  • Provides advice and guidance to other employees

  • Develops plans to increase efficiency and reduce costs

  • Improves existing systems and policies

  • Oversees delivery functions

  • Manages internal and external service suppliers

  • Demonstrate leadership in safety, develop and maintain a strong safety culture within the team

  • Support the sales team in the development of high-quality, competitive solutions for tenders providing input to costs, method statements and project schedules

  • Support the commercial team in the development of solutions for tenders providing costs, method statements and project schedules along with any other technical documents required by the client

  • Liaise with CTV Fleet Manager to ensure operational resources and processes are coordinated

  • Oversee procurement and ensure budgets are met

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Prior Experience as Operations Director or Manager for offshore construction and or operations
  • Knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Cost Objectives
